Okay, I'm almost done packing. I have reviewed what items I can bring on the plane. Damn. No kubatons allowed on board, but I can check them. When were these ever allowed as carry on? Sheesh.

Bad news. No flares or explosives can be shipped at all. I know these things need to be explicitly mentioned because someone will try to take advantage of loopholes, but still, it strikes me as funny.

But small tools with blades under 4 inches in length are allowed at last. Sweet!

Oh, and I will be bringing Airborn, the good luck charm of travel.

This time tomorrow night, I'll be on the East Coast. Booyah.

Interesting how they keep changing what's allowed now...I'll have to check again closer to when I fly to the UK & Germany next month, since somehow I think my nifty keychain pocketnife might still be verboten, but on an overnight flight I'm more concerned about mascara & other vanity items (hey you never know who you might meet!)...and I was thinking of bringing my laptop for photo storage & work on my party book on the flights & trains, but I'm still thinking about that one...

I don't know what you're talking about... the I had a flight where I was carrying an assault rifle in my lap and was loaded down with 210 rounds of ammunition. Nobody said shit about it. ON the other hand, on that flight someone might have looked at me oddly if I wasn't, but that's beside the poitn.
