Jan. 6th, 2003 11:55 pmI can't believe the number of people who are excited about the show Joe Millionaire. Some folks seem to want to bash women for their gold-digging ways.
There are greedy men, and there are greedy women. And there's this little tradition that still lingers in society that a woman must be taken care of by a man, financially. So, let's get a bunch of women who were raised with this culture to try and catch themselves a rich, handsome man. Shocking.
Somehow, this strikes me as a bit bitter on the part of the show producers.
And then there's the audience. Are these people of substance? I find that a lot of women who wouldn't be caught dead with a man of meager monetary means seem to love this show. Then there are the men who want to see those gold-digging bitches get what they deserve. Yeah!
How sad.
