The house I'm in now is all hardwood floors, and I have to say it's nice to be able to wipe up cat barf pretty easily.
I didn't come here to gloat though, because let me tell you...we bought a runner rug for the hall. Within half an hour of putting it down, a cat had puked on it. Nice.
