I finally decided to get on the haiku bandwagon, and have been writing an assortment of haikus related to my thoughts over the course of today.

I have one question, though, to any haiku experts, about passed tense. I'm assuming these would count as one syllable, but correct me if I'm wrong:

backed
shocked

What about "changed"? One or two. It feels like two to me...

It'd depend on where it was used within the haiku, I'd guess... oooh, but if it's two syllables, are you going to put an accent mark over the "e"? 'Cause that would rock :b

I'm looking forward to seeing what you wrote! :D

(Disclaimer: Yansa is not a haiku expert, having written his last haiku in 1986 for a 4th grade class assignment. However, he has listened to Pizzicato Five and Gackt at times, and he only lives one ocean away from Japan, so he rocks anyway. This disclaimer has been brought to you by the St. Melvin Postcard Company of Oelwein, Iowa -- St. Melvin, when you care enough to send the very best wheat-laced postcards of nondescript Midwestern towns. Thank you. We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast of Happatai singing "Yatta!", already in progress.)

all one syllable.
as is past, as in past tense :)

That's what I was thinking, but it seemed oh so marginal.
