I just got confirmation from Zanadu comics. They might be one of the last people who have Volume III of the Sandman in stock. Now we'll see what condition it is in.

Now, off to pick up Ms Tao and head to Davis!

A night of physics and pad thai. All that's missing are hot dates in loin cloths, and all would be perfect. Of course, Ms. Tao and I don't have that. I think, at least in my case, it's bad karma for giving her a "Great Date Ken" (with unnaturally crispy hair and a boutineer!) for her birthday one year. It doomed us to being each other's great date ever since.

Which one is that, again? The title? I first wanted to say it was "A Season of Mists," but I think that's later.

Dream Country be the third volume. Season O' Mists is four.

Ah. Dream Country is short stories -- good to read, but can be skipped for a while if necessary. (The cats one is brilliant.)

You're not mistaking that with The Dream Hunters, right? Yoshitaka Amano was the artist for that book, and it really wasn't in the main series.

I've got both of them -- I'm pretty sure Dream Country is the one with the "Dream of 1,000 Cats" and the tale "The Strange Death of the Element Girl." Good stuff. I think the emperor stories were in there, too -- the one about Augustus Caesar, the one about Emperor Norton -- but I may be wrong there.

My evening is one hot date in sassy specs short of perfection*. Hmmmmm.

An unrelated** note: The sun is shining, the grass is green, and the open road calls my name***... perhaps a little southbound I-5 roadtrip is in order. Like, oh, say, next weekend? Hmmmmm. This is something that I must contemplate and ponder****. :)

* = I also lack pad thai, although that's less important, somehow
** = Some analysts do not believe this note is truly unrelated
*** = "Charles", saith the open road, in a stentorian voice that is vaguely reminiscent of old Ricola commercials
**** = Highly-placed sources close to our burly hero claim that he may be seeking some form of response to this statement

Well, that's a fun concept (road trippage). When did you plan on arriving and how long did you wish to stay? For sure, I have to work on Saturday morning, so if you weren't rollin' into town until after noon, it shouldn't be a problem.
