Is it me, or has anyone else noticed an increased frequency of commuting smokers tossing their lit cigarettes on the road while they are driving?

This annoys me greatly. First of all, it's littering, second of all, I don't want to have to experience that moment of fear when some fireball hits the road in front of me. I wish I could just find a way to quickly capture that lit cigarette and toss it back in their car saying, "Now you know how the street feels, buddy!"

After all, the driver's brain is comprised of the same neuron-rich sludge we drive on.

I find such white trash behavior to be unacceptable. If you're going to smoke in your car, use your ashtray, waste-oid.

Someone else flicked trash on the road today, too. I want a War on Litter! Bring back our troops and let's give those litter bugs a Patriot missile enema!

In Colorado, ya get a $1000 fine for that, whether it's thrown on the ground, or out the window. In one city, (Boulder) the fine goes up to $3000. It's got a lot to do with the dryness of the area and all the fires we are so prone to experiencing during the summer. It's quite a hefty fine, but there is so much natural beauty here that abandoned cigarette butts look horrible lying about. I'm glad the fines are in place. I'd think it would teach people some respect, alas there are still cigarette butts everywhere!

(I don't usually smoke in public...it looks tacky and I'm rather embarrassed I still do it. At any rate, from my mouth to my ashtray immediately! Whether I have $1000 or not, I don't want to spend it on that!)
