Tonight I finished reading volume I of The Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes. My favorite part was the exchange between Dream and Death.
The baby asking Death, "But...is that it? Is that all I get?"
"I'm afraid so."

Penn and Teller's Bullshit was on tonight. They spoke of fad diets and the problem of hunger. They profiled folks from Greenpeace and some Vegan crackpots who are campaigning against genetically altered foods.

Apparently, we have 6.6 billion people in this world, but only enough food for 4.4 billion. And the USA has a weight problem. Yeesh. Genetically alterned foods allow us to increase production of food. This is a good thing, when people are starving. Furthermore, much of our food has already been altered. The direct Penn Gillette said to those who are against genetically altered foods, "Unless you and yours are starving, shut the fuck up. Very few people in this world have the luxury of refusing food."

Bill Maher sayeth: "Geraldo had a bad week. After getting kicked out of Iraq, he got booted out of Kuwait after he tried to open Al Jazeera's vault."

I watched Ed tonight. Is it me, or is Ed looking tired and older? Carol seems like she's on stimulants. I wonder if they are getting tired of their roles. I feel like their rapport has dwindled. And Carol needs a hot meal; something that will stick to her ribs. Yeesh.

The bit with the 18 year old getting his heart broken was rather touching. I love that kid, anyway, ever since he appeared in Galaxy Quest. Whoever plays his cute and prank-inclined friend is cute. It would be a treat to find an older version of him.

Bed. Must get up early and go to work.

And, ya know, if you had only been around when he was at his "peak" to appreciate how little he contributed to the entire music scene back in the day, you'd NEVER understand the cult following NOW...

There was basically only ONE thing he was famous for and that was getting so wasted he would do bizarre stuff, like expose himself. As "cool" (or not) that was for people who were titillated by his antics, his music was not the reason he sold tickets. I mean, my God, he competed with legends like the Beatles, the 'Stones, the Who, Cream, Clapton and so on. People went to HEAR their music and experience their magic.

In fact, most concerts back then were merely venues to hook up with other people for any number of reason--drugs, sex, etc.--even when the legendary groups played.
