Well, I'm bushed, but it was quite a lovely day.

Volunteering for the Jazz Festival is a blast. First, it's easy work. Second, it's a people-watching extravaganza. Third, you get a free day pass for three hours of smiling and checking badges.

I ran into my 5th grade teacher and made him feel old when I told him when I had him as a teacher. He was a jerk, so he really wasn't too interested to see what I was up to. I was still wrestling with learning disabilities and poor performance back then, so he didn't get to hear how I was 5th in my high school class, and that I'm now a successful business lass with a few college degrees under my belt.

Then Golf-boy, Binky's brother, and I went to meet up with Baby Doc and Yale-Vet at the River City brewing company to watch the playoff game. I'm glad I was drinking, else that last shot the lakers made would have made me violent.

After that, I went to see the Sac Valley Chorus perform at the Crest. I ran into TG-Vet(who was in the chorus) and her hubby. They took me out to dinner. Yes, I was spoiled! After dinner and delightful conversation, we shuffled back to the Crest to see RSJO, a great jazz band. I highly recommend making time to see those gents. They do old favorites that you might see in a Fred Astaire and Al Jolson movies, etc. They have a few handsome crooners to sing some of the songs, too.

All told, a great evening. I also checked my snail mail from yesterday and found that my copy of Harry Potter arrived in the mail. Hot damn, this day is the gift that keeps on giving!
