May. 4th, 2002 12:32 pmI watched a movie this morning called "Chutney Popcorn". It was about a punjabi lesbian living in New York, having a baby for her infertile sister, and finding true happiness.
It was like an after school special for multi-cultural lesbians. When I went to IMDB.com, I found out why I felt that the movie was so shallow and trite...even if it included a lesbian Indian woman.
The movie was directed by Nisha Ganatra, who also played the main character. Many of us have seen Nisha's work before. She directed several Real World episodes.
EEEEWWWWWWWWW!! That's almost as bad as getting your start as a pornography director.
And back it goes to netflix.
That's the last time I rent a movie and say, "With a name like Chutney Popcorn, it's gotta be good!"
