This morning, I was awoken by two very amourous cats. I woke up to Maximus sucking on my ear. Just as I rerouted him off to laying by my side, Sascha comes up and lays on my shoulder. The whole process of being kind of stuck in my less-than-ideal go-back-to-sleep position was enough to wake me up. So I got up, much to the disgust of my two furpanions and plugged in a movie. (You don't think I would try to get a jump on the productivity of the day, did you?)

I watched Two Weeks Notice, which was a chick flick extraordinaire. Totally formula. But I do enjoy some of Sandra Bullock's physical comedy. If she can find a well-done script, instead of the normal pablum she's accustomed to appearing in, I think the potential is wonderful.

After that, I took a brief cat nap. I finally rolled out of bed around 10am, worked out, did some laundry, and made another attempt at fixing my kitchen drawer. the staples that were stuck in the wood in the back of the cabinet are very awkward to extract. I am almost done...just three more of the hardest ones.

Now, I plan on finishing folding some laundry, finish my freshly ground and brewed Timor coffee, and hopping into the shower. Today, my mother is coming over to watch Ed and The West Wing. I recorded them on TiVo when I went to see "Lost in Translation" with her earlier this week.

I was thinking of heading to the store, acquiring some sirloin and some chuck, making home made ground beef hamburgers and grillin' 'em up on the BBQ. I may "stuff" the hamburger patties with bleu cheese.

I read and enjoyed the Fables prequel "The Last Castle". I learned that Little Boy Blue is in fact either a) a natural blond or b) very thorough.

I also picked up issues 1 and 2 of "The Reign of the Zodiac". Since I'm a bit of an astrology whore, I thought it might be interesting. The first issue trudged off a little slower than I would have liked. And the artwork reminded me too much of Jehovah's Witness literature artwork. It wasn't quite that bad, but the fact that it made me think of it was not a good thing.

Right now, a Virgo prince is set to marry an Aries Princess. This can't be good. We'll see if Issue #2 makes a comeback to sustain my interest.

30 Helens agree: grinding sirloin and chuck to make burgers is delicious.

I ended up making some baklava for the heck of it, as well. The recipe I have calls for orange flour water. Since I am without orange flower water (recipe requires 1 tablespoon), I used grand marnier instead. This does not hamper the baklava enjoyment factor.

So, back to the burger. I combined two recipes from the Food Network:

I also cooked some bacon slices and the usual condomint suspects. You can use a food processor if you don't have a meat grinder. You'll never want to go back to regular burgers again. :-)
