Triumphantly Home
Dec. 3rd, 2003 02:27 pmSo yes, I was rather violently ill this morning. Vomiting, stomach pain, clammy complexion, possible fever, and utter exhaustion.
The problem was, I had stuff to do today. I also was due to take a certification test that work plunked down $100 for. So I went in to show that a)I was indeed sick, b) see if I could reschedule my exam and c) see the doctor.
While it may not be a big thing, I haven't had an illness like this in a long time...and definitely not the stomach pain.
I call the Prometric folks. Now, I know that if I want to reschedule, I must do it 24 hours in advance. Unfortunately the simptoms hit me 12 hours in advance, so I was hoping for some special dispensation.
Prometric Nazi: no, you cannot reschedule
Me: Even though I might have a contagious and virulent stomach flu?
PN: well, if you see your doctor and fax us a note, we'll consider it.
Me: Okay.
My test is at 11am. I call my doctor. She can give me a note by 1:30pm. My dilemma? They may not let me reschedule, and then I would have my company pay $200 for one exam.
Hell no. If I'm going to pay $100 for a forfeited exam, I'm going to get a look at that test. So I carefully drove to the testing center and took the test. I passed. Hah!
Now I can brag to my coworkers that not only did I pass the test by browsing the studyguide once, but I had a painful stomach flu to boot!
Now I'm sleepy.
