Merry Christmas Eve, Everyone!

To all my friends on LJ, I wish you all love and happiness. But honestly, I wish that for you all the time. I just forget to mention it.

I admit to being someone subdued during this holiday season. It’s a long tale of holiday woe. That’s what you get when you come from a long line of depressive dysfunctionals. But that’s okay. Too much excitement and I might combust.

For those struggling with annoying family members this season: remember that alcohol makes everyone more bearable, so bust out Martha Stewart's Rum Nog!

For my work day, I’m sporting a pair of antlers with Christmas lights on them.

This morning was a little strange. For some reason, my hot water was meager. I don’t know if time truly passed more quickly between the time I turned on the water to when I stepped in the shower, but I’ve never run out of hot water like that. It looks like my pilot light in the water heater is still on. We’ll see what happens tonight.

Furthermore, my garage door was acting odd. Not opening all the way, etc. Despite those annoying delays, I made it to work on time.

I just got an email from the local Imax theatre venue. The subject line reads, "Disney's Young Black Stallion playing at the Esquire Theater!".

...

I always thought it was "Black Stallion", not "Young Black Stallion."

Instead of a mighty black steed, something less like a children's movie comes to mind.

Was there actually a Disney movie called "Young Black Stallion"? Is it new?

Mommy, where can I get a young black stallion?

Ahhh, yes. Working on Christmas Eve is such a unique experience. It's so quiet, and dull. The lack of population at work makes the Musak all the more clear. Burl Ives (I believe it is he who sings this) is haunting me from the grave with "Holly Jolly Christmas".

Next year, I'm taking time around Christmas off. That's final. I think I'll be bucking for a snowy cabin in Tahoe, too.

But, otherwise, life is not bad at all. Mum should have dinner waiting when I arrive at her abode for brief Christmas Eve Festivities.

This weekend, I plan on making some homemade Egg Nog. Oh, that's the stuff.
