G'morning, folks

I should be up and in the shower by now. But noooo.

I woke up early this morning, thanks to my amorous cats demanding snuggle time. Did I use this as an opportunity to get a head start on my day?

Hell-no. I watched another episode of Highlander from the first season. To start my day with a nip of Adrian Paul is not a bad thing.:-)

I overheard a proud Parent in the cafeteria talking about how she and her husband put on a whole production to fool the child into hearing Santa coming to their house. Her husband was outside with sleigh-like bells. The child of course believed all of it, and even thinks he saw santa’s silhouette outside of his window. The child was filled with wonder and amazement.

Part of me thinks it is cute. However, I remember feeling rather bummed that Santa wasn’t real when I finally became old enough. I felt badly for my parents, for I made them cookies, etc., and they weren’t always in the mood to eat them. And hell, I wasn’t the best of cooks then, anyway.

In retrospect, I don’t think I would have wanted to be mislead into believing that entities like the tooth fairy existed, or Santa Claus. Yeah, I’m being a bit of a party pooper, but finding out the truth later on detracts from memories. Now you experience something once, but memories last until you get Alzheimer’s.

What do you folks think?

Anyone want to go see a play with me?

Anyone?

Hello?

A friend and I met up at Great Escape games yesterday to go shopping and then see a movie.

Incidentally, we saw "Big Fish". I enjoyed it. Burton's sick and twisted side is subdued, but there is some whimsical creativity at play here which makes the film a tender story between father and son, and an enjoyable theatrical ride, in my opinion.

Oh, I said this post was about RPG geekiness, didn't I?

So, I acquired a few sourcebooks for d20 Modern, as well as a sourcebook for a 13th Century Monastery. This is my horde of sourcebooks for a campaign notion I have, which is to subject a gaming party to multiple genres over the course of the campaign. This would be accomplished by entering various portals that transcend space and time and technology. The itch is resurfacing to start developing a shell for this concept, so I shall begin reading up on this and developing my plan for how this would work. I can put my characters through Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, Star Wars, Call of Cthulu, and d20 Modern.

Of course, I'd have to find some foo--er friends to play this game with me, too.

What I did not buy at the store was a copy of Testament by Green Ronin. This would allow you to roleplay the Bible! Hah! What would Jesus do, indeed.
