Yesterday, I spent the bulk of the day with my Mother. She came over for brunch, then we shuttled off to the Vacaville outlet stores. The objective was for her to look at new dishes.

The result: She got a few springform pans and a canvas tote bag. I acquired a new gym bag (well, mine is falling apart), some little creamers, some new bowls that are bigger than my smallest bowls, and smaller than my largest bowls for cereal, snacks, etc. Yes, I got goldilocks bowls. I also acquired larger shot glass (olds about 3 oz as opposed to 1.5 oz.), a microplane, and some new place mats.

I've been trying recycled paper cat litter with my cats. This morning I got a message that they really don't care for it. Now that I have cleaned up my guest bathroom, where the litter is housed, I'll go get some johnny cat litter.

Today will be a day of chores and reading, me thinks.

Oh, and here is an interesting link giving us a review of Republican scandals. This will come in handy if you find some rabid conservative trying to rail against the Clinton administration about his "scandals".

As [livejournal.com profile] unclemilo mentioned with glee, Gore Vidal called Bush "Caligula". I'll go for it. Gore is one feisty bastard. He bitch slapped David Frum on the most recent "Real Time with Bill Maher". David Frum comes off as a better looking Woody Allen when he speaks. With all the hesitation and laborious stuttering that peppers Frum's verbal arguments, it's very hard to argue agains the man, because it's so hard to hear him talk.

I'm dressed in fine slacker fashion today, kids:
-A big Sacramento Monarch's t-shirt
-A pair of soft pajama bottoms.
-A hairstyle reminiscent of bed-head.

I'm too sexy for this outfit, folks! It's time for my strut down the catwalk.

Moments like me rotating my mattress by myself make me want to acquire a video camera and a tripod. I have a queen sized pillow top mattress, so it's thick and heavy. That's kind of like how I like my men, but I digress.

Had a video camera been trained on me in my bedroom during this delicate mattress dance (that's right, I said mattress dance), you would have seen the mattress fall on me, following a series of desperate, yet amusing recovery measures on my part.

Some flailing was involved.
Some squirming and spinning.
Some falling backwards and legs in the air.

Regardless. When all was said and done, the mattress was rotated where it needed to be, and required only a little movement two inches to the right.

For those of you who have not already seen me speak of Karen Kwietkowsky and her various articles regarding the war in Iraq, she has yet another thought provoking article here.

An excerpt:
Condoleezza Rice recently repeated that Saddam had represented "the most dangerous regime in the world's most dangerous region." More dangerous than North Korea in terms of direct destructive threat to US soldiers parked on the DMZ and Americans at home on the West Coast. More dangerous than Pakistan or Iran, or even Israel, in terms of weapons technology proliferation. More dangerous than the decentralized al Qaeda organization responsible for 9-11, with its leader Bin Laden still not captured. That's what she said.

We just weren't seeking liberty the right way here, folks. The road to Iraq was paved with underhanded goals on the part of the White House. The problem is, how do we make it right? Do we just withdraw and let them figure it out? Will the UN clean up our mess? We are no safer since 9/11 with this "war on terror". We have done nothing to quell the hate that breeds terrorism.

Israel isn't helping matters, either.

I tire of such purveyors of hate in this world. I am disappointed in those who follow hateful manipulators. Most of us know that war is hell. But for those of influence, war is profit.
