I had no idea that they didn't add "Under God" to the Pledge until 1954, during the red scare.

platostruth -- Oh, there are so many things. A really well written line. The way the sun shines into my window on a Saturday morning. The fact that I'm still in bed when the sun is up on a Saturday morning. Same goes for Sundays. Coffee. Tea. A glass of scotch and a poker game. Falling in love. Surprising someone. A good debate. My cats. A beautiful song. Winning a difficult but fair contest. Doing the right thing. Making someone smile. Chasing off demons. Overcoming obstacles. Mischief. Ah, work is over at last. Now to the gym.

Work was reasonable. Though we had a potluck today for my boss's 20th anniversary with the company. Someone made a pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting. Oops.

It was so good going down, but I didn't feel spry afterwards. Hopefully the gym will whisk away the cobwebs in my brain.

Sleep coma. I said that earlier, engaging in a bit of hot, uncut stream of consciousness action. It's rather redundant. And that annoys me. What I should have said was, "potluck coma".

Now to get the gym out of the way so I can return home and begin my weekend, which turns out to be reasonably social, yet nerdy:
Friday:
-Direct TV install in the morning. Woo!
-Drum lessons
-Feng Shui game tomorrow night
Saturday:
-Platinum Chefs cooking club. It's Cajun night! Oooooh! Tha's gooood!
Sunday:
-Call of Cthulhu game

I am comfortable in my Castle. I've done some practical things, like folded laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, etc.

Now I'm back into my B.A.D, as season 4 of Buffy has arrived via netflix! Rejoice!

denimdoll -- Oh, that's very hard, considering I now own an ipod with 20 gigs o' space on there. If I could play a cd for the rest of my life, I can play an ipod. So I'll stick with the ipod. ;-) There is just no single CD that I can listen to all the time; I crave variety.

bouncepogo -- Various patterns and beats. There are the rudiments (paradiddle, dragadiddle, flams), and also limb independence (limbdependence). Left foot runs the high hat pedal, right foot runs the bass drum. The arms do all the stuff on the upper deck. The trick is, they aren't always moving on the same beat. Reading drum music and playing at the same time is also a slowly acquired skill.
