Remind me that I should just give up on eating stadium food. Ugh.

[livejournal.com profile] taogrl and I had fun at the game. I was a bit sleepy, and still am. We started the game off with Mike's Hard Lemonade, acquired food that was all too bad for us, and began to watch the game.

[livejournal.com profile] taogrl is well on her project to take bad pictures with a cheap camera. I had my little elph with me too. I began to play a variation of the "yours and mine" game.

Recall that the game is played thusly:
-All the good looking people are "mine".
-All the freaks are "yours".
-First one to inform their cherished friend about the missing link that is their new mate wins the round.

This time, I put my camera to good use. I was taking pictures of the audience, and zoomed in on a concession vendor a few sections away. Finally she asked me what I was doing.

Me, showing picture on camera: See this guy here?
Her: Yeah.
Me: He's yours
Her: Dammit!

Good times.

The game went over 10 innings. There were fireworks, but I was starting to sense a gastronomical rebellion, so we left. For a moment, as we passed the river, I briefly considered tossing some chum into the river.

It's Saturday Morning!

The orders of business:
-make two pies
-attend hair appointment
-actually get out of bed and accomplish the first two items.

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is turn on the tv, so I don't fall back asleep. PBS has the painter guy. "The Joy of Painting". Remember the guy with the delicate, peaceful voice and the huge afro? Bob Ross is his name. I have no clue if he's still alive. Ooop...I just saw a post-show plug for the Bob Ross Memoral Fund. I think he's parted from this mortal coil.

I really wish he would have dropped acid, and then did his painting show. He needed more angry suns and foreboding trees. And maybe he could have thrown in a dead body on his painting instead of a cute little log cabin.

Geez. It's now time for One-stroke Painting by Donna Dewberry. Today's topic, painting candles.

Lord, I am so not a crafts kinda gal.

Touch, lean and pull.
Touch, lean and pull.
And here we can touch, lean and push.

...by the foulest of winged terrorists.

I didn't realize what [livejournal.com profile] taogrl meant when she said I would need to wash my car today. I knew I got hit by a few pigeons, but in the dark of night, I did not comprehend the magnitude of the refuse that was spackled upon my vehicle.

Poor Sta-puft, so noble and dutiful a vehicle should not have been treated thusly.

Sta-puft the marshmallowmobile is no longer a car. It's shit on four wheels.

Time to bust out the power washer again.

I'm bidding on three used cds on ebay:

-Bush, Sixteen Stone
-Fountains of Wayne, Fountains of Wayne
-Mighty Bosstones, Live in the Middle East

Two of 'em I shall get for about a buck plus shipping. Fountains of Wayne I may not win. Some other bastard is outbidding me, no doubt!

So, tonight's theme for the Platinum Chefs is "Pie". We're each bringing two pies to sample. I am the club DJ, so I will be providing music for our enjoyment. I did a search on iTunes for songs that have "Pie" in the title. I didn't pick them all. Some sounded too horrid. Several songs have the same title but sound quite different. I did NOT include Warrant's "Cherry Pie". It was way overplayed when it was out. No need to beat that dead horse. Here's what I chose:

'Tater Pie -- Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys
American Pie -- The King's Singers
American Pie -- Slaughter
Apple Pie -- 5ive Style
Apple Pie -- i.j. smith
Apple Pie -- Clare Muldaur
