Nov. 2nd, 2004 05:58 pmMy work day nears its end. I've got a wee bit of a headache.
I'm saddened to see the people voting for Bush at any amount. The things he has allowed to be done under his watch. The abandonment of basic civil liberties, the lives lost under his choices.
Certainty. Bush is said to have it, Kerry not so much. Certainty is for fascists. But Kerry has certainty. He's certain Bush is wrong. And so am I.
We're still only part-way into tonight's journey. It's only the first night of the rest of our lives, as it always is.
Will history look back on this election and say, "Despite the ill-guided tendencies of the Bush administration, most americans supported him out of fear of terrorist threats, in part encouraged by their doctrine of pre-emptive war..."
Will others wonder, like some of us wonder with other despotic leaders, why we stood by and let these atrocities happen?
Golly, I hope not.

Nov. 2nd, 2004 10:40 pmI certainly understand the knee-jerk desire to flee the country if you're not a Bush supporter. However, if Patriots are willing to stand and fight for their country, and you choose to flee...perhaps all is as it should be?
Could that be the Democrat's demise? Do we not have enough people who are willing to get tough with our nation and lead it back into the state of grace we should be in, based on our country's core values?
I will be quite depressed if, when all is said and counted, Kerry loses the elecction. Yes, indeed. But the battle for truth is never an easy one. And I certainly cannot say I've done my part in the battle, much to my discredit.

Nov. 2nd, 2004 11:58 pmI'm going to bed.
I got to commiserate with
taogrl earlier on in the evening. At home, I had the pleasure of virtually sobbing with kindred political spirits
shaunathan and
dslartoo.
It doesn't look good at all. How odd that all those polls were turned on their ears. How strange.
