Religion and Government
Nov. 15th, 2004 12:52 amI'm sorry, but Bob Jones III's letter to George Bush is just creepy.
( BJ's love letter to Bush )
Geez, am I the only one who thinks it's not a coincidence that some dude with the initials BJ sucks up to Bush? And would someone please tell these Christian folks that the Church and State should remain separate? Good grief.
I am currently re-watching this week's episode of Bill Moyer's "Now". On it, Sister Joan Chittister is interviewed about the issue of religion in politics. She had some wonderful things to say, as well as interesting. It is nice to see a devoutly religious woman speak reasonably, as well as spiritually.
One point I found interesting is her comment about no understanding how the pro-lifers could support the war on Iraq. She said that some of the victims in Iraq are bound to be pregnant women. And there you have military abortion. I suppose what it comes down to is that certain folks are just pro-Christian life.
