I just finished gaming with the lads, which included [livejournal.com profile] patricks and [livejournal.com profile] doccross. 'Twas a good, amusing time.

I made them some crepes for dessert. My crepe-flip success rate was 80%. This means I blew one flip, and the crepe landed pre-folded. Fear not, gentle readers. I, um, destroyed the evidence.

This weekend portends to move quickly.

I'm having a morning. I'm struck by the beauty of the great outdoors.

My ears are being massaged with the beautiful sounds of Nicholas Gunn and his album "The Sacred Fire".

I am contemplating the political environment of this country.

I am continuously annoyed by conservative pundits who think disagreeing with the direction this country is going into, domestically and abroad, qualifies as being pro-terrorist. I'd agree, if our military weren't killing more citizens then terrorists. Especially since we haven't killed the one mastermind who has successfully broken through our defenses and plunged many of us into a state of fear and hatred. So much so, that we're willing to just toss our freedoms into a bonfire of ignorance.

I am overcome with skepticism, paranoia, and just a dash of hope.

And then I came across this article on HP Lovecraft in Salon, which is rather amusing. I enjoy playing Call of Cthulu roleplaying games, but I've not been able to get into his writing:

HP a hack? Maybe so... )

Well, I am freshly clipped and dyed...well, at least my hair is. I had my hair appointment today. I should get a photo of it. I need to become rich and famous so I can afford a staff to do my hair each morn.

After the hair appt, I went to visit B in the Hospital. He's steadily getting better, but still has some pain management issues.

I still get antsy at hospitals. God, it must suck to be stuck bed-ridden like that. So far, I've managed to avoid lengthy hospital visits like that since I was four. And back then, I didn't give a crap.

I still remember parts of my hospital stay as a wee lass. I was in for the ol' double hernia. Congenital maladies are fun! I remember getting xrays and fighting orderlies to the death due to my irrational fear of X-ray technology. I remember waking up to a semi-circle of doctors looking at me after the operation. I was in a hospital crib. I was not enthused. But I did feel kind of important. I remember getting a shot in the ass, and being very perturbed over that. I remember my mom coming up to me, rather freaked out because she went to look for me in my hospital room, and I had shuffled out to hang out with the nurses at the nurse's station. I was trying to scare up a game of cards, or something. I remember recovering at home, and my mother having yet another coronary because I felt well enough to jump up and down on the bed. Of course, the only thing keeping my intestines in place was a set of stitches. I remember having those stiches removed. They came out rather easily. I remember them tickling me, a bit.

Good times, good times. I'm glad I haven't returned for a visit to ye olde land of surgical procedures, howver.

Now I'm at work, about to get some work taken care of. I'll probably be here for about 4 hours. So if you want to entertain me with text messages to my phone, please do. :-)

Oh, and I forgot to discuss my apple lust. I want that new 60gb iPod photo. Yes. Unfortunately, it won't fit my current set of Altec Lansing portable speakers. This pisses me off. These speaker(-lets) cost me $150. Foo. But ooooh. Color iPod is purty. Purty. I'll hug it and squeeze it and call it George.

Oh Bullocks!

I'm getting sleepy over here. It's nice to have this whole office to myself, listening to my ipod on my now obsolete altec lansing speaker system. Grrr!

*yawn*

*Anne proceeds to slap herself silly to stay awake and work. Anne's inner lazy-ass proceeds to whine and beg. Anne's inner Stern Taskmistress proceeds to flog inner lazy-ass. Calamity ensues.*
