weaktwosMs Tao called me this morning to inform me that Tim Burton owns the rights to Katherine Dunne's Geek Love. Now, I loved this book. It was sick, twisted, and outrageously fun to read. The way I read it was unique, as well. Ms Tao and a friend of ours from Seattle read it aloud to each other one night (and into the morning). We took turns reading. It was a great way to spend an evening. In fact, I'd love to find a group of folks to do that with again.
Now, back to Mr. Burton. A google search suggests that he's had the rights for a few years, and that he's already made the film in an animated fashion. Since it hasn't been released, I gather it tanked. It hasn't even made IMDB.
Assuming Burton's talent hasn't dried up, I think he would do a wonderful job with the book.
Jogging update: two more miles today, running at a .1 mile/hour pace. No pain in the knees or shins, and I am still able to walk normally.
For those who are familiar with the reference from the Kids in the Hall: no, I choose not to have a baby this month, and oh yeah! the bills are due!
Blargh.
On Homebrewing: I can't decide if I want to start with bottling first, or go straight to kegging. The idea of maintaing fresh kegged beer for extended amounts of time seems appealing. But then I'd want a kegerator. Oh, I'm such a toy whore.
