Today:

--A gorgeous morning! I'm lazing around in the sun. I am like a marmot on a rock.

--Soon, brunch with me Ma, and Spiderman!!!

--Later, another vicious evening of bridge and mad cap bids made my yours truly, the Loose Canon of the bridge community.

--Mundanities: laundry, home organization.

"Marmot on a rock"? That's a funny image :D.

Everyone say that Spiderman is good. I shouldn't have worked on my paper last minute >.

Yes, marmots are funny little lumpkins. :-)

But the REAL question is...

...is the marmot wearing flannel pajamas? If she isn't, she SHOULD be. *grin*

What did you think of Spiderman? We thought it was a good half-hour too long, that the scene with the Goblin-dude in the mirror was just ridiculous and that the closing scene at the gravestone could have been summed up in one sentence.

It also bothered me that Spidey's upper lip didn't move when he spoke - reminded me of the Church Lady. Did you find that distracting, too?

Other than everything on that list, though, I thought it was pretty okay. *grin*

A marmot does not need flannel! This marmot needs a tan!

I enjoyed spiderman a lot, actually. Of course, that could be because I creamed every time Toby came into view. I like him. :-)

I didn't find the length a problem. I was actually rather entertained by the mirror scene. And yes, for me, no scene with Toby is too long. I would watch him read the phonebook. :-)

So, we differ a bit, but that's okay. :-)

EVERY marmot needs flannel - ESPECIALLY if said marmot has a thing for a spider named Toby. *grin*

A poem in honor of your crush (in rhyme, because I know how much you love it):

*ahem*

Spider, spider
on the wall
ain't you got no sense at all?
Can't you see that wall is plastered?
Get off that wall,
you stupid... bug.

I'd love to say I wrote that myself, but credit goes to my ex's grandfather, Mr. Charlie Norrod. Mr. Norrod was also noted for his candid weather observations: "Well shoot fire - it's a-rainin' hard as a cow pissin' on a flat rock!"

And they wondered why I wouldn't marry into the family.

I'm touched. Really, I am. ;-)

I can understand your position on not marrying into that family. Bad gene pool.

I concur - it clearly needed some chlorine.

HAHAHA! Where did Grandpa live?

Is that why they call Flat Rock, Michigan that?

Charlie Norrod (the author) lived in Clinton Township, Michigan until about two years ago when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and subsequently moved to Pennsylvania with family. One can only imagine what his poetry is like NOW...

HAHAHAHAHA!

Has anyone ever researched what his living in CLINTON Township did to cause the hasty retreat of his senses?

As the Beatles would say, "I Got A Feelin'"...;)

Charlie's sense and sensES were gone LONG before the Alzheimer's set in. I don't know much, but I DO know that.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that in order for that poem to be recited correctly, the word 'spider' must be pronounced 'thpider'.

(just in case any of you were considering taking that to a local poetry slam)
