Camping Update
Sep. 24th, 2002 07:30 pmIt's Sunday. Here's an update of Sven's and my camping adventure.
Saturday:
I left the Sacramento area at 11am. I arrived to camp at 3pm. While travelling on the last legs of 128 west, I hit a wall of fog, welcoming me officially to Highway 1 along the coast.
We set up camp, made dinner, chilled.
Sunday:
Up at 6:30am to hear morning dew dripping on my tent. No, it wasn't Sven taking a leak on my tent. It wasn't raining, either. There were no guilty birds in the vicinity, either.
I get up, step out of my tent. In an extraordinary dislay of grace (remember, that's what my name means), I stagger off to the right. Sven was already up and starting the fire. Go him!
I proceeded to make us a fritatta with potatoes, bacon, zuccini, eggs, shallots, mushrooms and cheese. A good, hearty meal.
Then, it was off to geocaching. We spent six hours hitting 6 different geocaches. Geocaching in Mendocino is fantastic!!
It was eerie watching the mists gently float inland from the ocean.
Our caching took us to breathtaking views of the coast, to a lighthouse, through mendocino and through two state parks.
By 3pm, we're exhausted. Time to regroup, rest, and shower before we get dinner on.
