I really enjoyed meeting the landscape designer. She showed me her portfolio, she was impressed with a list of my desires. I guess no one has given her a list of things one likes and doesn't like.

I'm going to go ahead and select her to do my design. I'm not much for shopping around, for shopping around does indeed take time. It will be $1200 for her to design my yard. But I feel it's worth it. She's going to have every detail on a two page plan for me. I need that. I don't care about names of plants, but I like showing her what I like and she can pick 'em for me.

We'll start in June.

that will be so neat! i have been watching these kinds of projects on hgtv and never cease to be impressed. i agree with the before and after pics comment.

Well, before is not too exciting. It's never been developed. So, a bunch of green tufts of weedes, a few concrete slabs, and a webster grill live there now. It's a 35x45 foot wasteland.

Yup! Yes, it is costly, but over nearly five years, I've never spent the time required to learn all I want to know to design a clever garden. It's time to outsource.

Sure you can! But I wouldn't be. I mean, I'm blowing 1200 smackers because I haven't been able to rub two neurons together to design my own backyard. Since I've been in my house for almost 5 years, I need a yard. Besides, it will kick up the home value, too.
