What if the main problem in all these economically and politically confusing times is that some of our indicators are shitty? The rules of our economy is shifting. People are doing business a little differently. We know statistics are misleading.

Consider this report. I have been of the mindset lately, that what we are using to represent "success" of our economy is not cutting the mustard. To some extent, I agree with some of the findings of this organization, Redefining Progress.

ahhh that is always the tough thing, economics is not an exact science but a social science, made complicated by us humans and our often irrational behavior. I think our skills at predicting such things are about as good as those we use to predict the weather.
