weaktwosDirect TV is now in both rooms. I decided on the two receiver schtick in the main room, giving me better signal strength, and the capability to record two shows at the same time there. My old Tivo is in my bedroom. I can record shows for friends in my bedroom and push them onto vhs tapes in there while I resume my regularly scheduled program watching in the living room.
Things I have left to do, home entertainment wise:
-Plan which shows get recorded on which tivo, and reschedule my Tivo shows.
-Since I have a different satellite system, I have to reprogram all my shows, me thinks, that are already scheduled on Buckminster(or Bucky), my 80gb Tivo series 2.
-I need to make a poll to see what I should name my DirectTivo.
-I need to start training my new DirectTivo with thumbs up and thumbs down action so it doesn't give me a season of Beverly Hills 90210 in syndication, or worse.
-Pray that DirectTV gets hip to the home networking features so I can network both Tivos on the wireless network.
One thing that annoyed me about resetting-up my tivo: even though I have the home network feature, it made me plug Buckminster into a phone line to dial up to get information. Dude! I'm on the net with that Tivo! Damn it all to hell!
