Well, philosophically, I'm not sure anyone else but me exists, so "real job" can get rather nebulous there.

However, assuming there are other minds--in particular other minds that pay me, my real job is that which other's pay me for doing.

So, in this case, I was installing stuff on my personal laptop at work. Returning to my real job entailed that I begin to engage in activities that my employers feel satisfied in paying me for. :-)
