Phew! Close call!
Jun. 15th, 2004 10:39 pmTonight was quasi productive. I went to the gym, ran my errands, and proceeded to race home to use the restroom. Drinking water at the gym and running errands after work spells tense times for the bladder.
I brought in my errand purchases: some gifts for a friend I'm visiting tomorrow night and some cat food for my little predators. If you must know (and you must!), those little predators are currently wrestling each other. No, wait, Sascha decided to groom Max for a bit. Oh..yeah...now they are back to wrestling. Oops. They didn't appreciate it when I threw a dollar at them and started cheering and shouting odds.
Anyway, I do my housely chores, then fire up Pepsi, the new ibook. Pepsi couldn't see my network. For those of you who don't own ibooks, in order to install new RAM, which I did earlier, you need to remove the airport extreme card first, which I also did. I also had a hard time getting it in and out, so I was concerned I might have damaged something.
But no, I refuse to panic. So I reseated the card, and still got no network. Then I rebooted my wireless access point. And I got some network connectivity, but nowhere near the performance of the past week. So I reseated the ibook again. This time was most effective.
Phew. The lesson is, folks: be firm but fair with your ibook innerds. They need a little extra push in those slots.
