As I sit and type my coveted journal entry, Sascha sits next to me sleeping. I reach over and pet him gently, his hind legs stretch out ahead of him, claw-toes splayed out. Then Maximus jumps up and grooms him. My heart proceeds to burst at the cuteness, and then I resume typing.
I have my classical music on, I have a little glass of scotch. Paying tribute to Sherlock Holmes' method of rumination, I also have my pipe. The tobacco of choice is DaVinci. It is these (de)vices that help make my current task more bearable: studying for the pesky HP Proliant certification. My test is tomorrow at noon. I'm the wench in charge at work tomorrow, as well, so I have much to do sandwiched around my test.
Tomorrow morning concludes the final interviews, as far as I know, for the London position. It is my hope that I should find out by Tuesday or Wednesday where I stand. I would assume if I am the first choice, I should find out by either of those days. If not, then I'll probably find out later, for I imagine the salary negotiation process will not be simple, since we start work when they finish work.
I am at a bit of a crossroads here, and I will be content with either outcome. I just want the outcome. I tend to think my chances are slight, since I may well be overqualified in their eyes, and therefore too costly. However, if they aren't threatened by an enormously intelligent asset like myself, my chances are excellent.
Enough of my yackin'. Back to studying.
Andrea Bocelli's "Con Te Partiro" just came on. Mercy. God Bless Italian Light Opera. *Swoon*
