Jul. 20th, 2004 04:30 pmThese past few days have been pleasant. Yesterday, I went to the mall and found out Eddie Bauer left Downtown Plaza Mall. Foo. Waste o' frickin time.
The Landscaper Dude came by this morning. He'll be giving me a quote for doing the brawny, manly tasks that involve big, burly machines to prepare the hardscape of my yard.
He took a copy of my designs and will give me a quote in a week.
In other news, I'll be doing a heavy day of jogging tonight on the road towards training for a 7 mile run in september.
In my life, the maximum I have slogged(not jogged) is 4 miles. And it wasn't too fast. So, 7 miles will be a lifetime record for little ol' lazy me. Lately, though, I've only been running for 2 miles at a time. So we're about to amp it up. My fitness friends have been using a supplement that helps them during extreme cardiovascular workouts. They are more potent than beverages like gatorade. It's called Ultra Fuel. I tried some and sure enough, it does give you a big boost during the run. Why, you may ask? Because one surving has 100 fuckin' grams of carbs (sugar). I tried a quarter serving, however (about 20 minutes before the workout) and it does help quite a bit.
I also bought a heart rate monitor to keep track of my heart rate. Eventually, I'll instinctively know where I need to be, but this will help keep me in the zone I want for cardio training.
