So, Alice Cooper is dissing the artists like Bruce Springsteen for taking a side on politics.

Apparently, he's disgusted by folks like Bruce and Sheryl Crow, etc.

"Rock should never be in bed with politics," he says.

"When I was a kid and my parents started talking about politics, I'd run to my room and put on the Rolling Stones as loud as I could. So when I see all these rock stars up there talking politics, it makes me sick," he says.

"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal, " he says.

So let me get this straight. A man like Alice, who hangs out with McCain at Phoenix basketball games, is driven to listening to Stones music when politics come up. Furthermore, he's a moron. He admits it. If I listen to him, I'm a bigger moron.

I don't think I'll listen to Alice.

My take has always been that musicians generally have no clue about things political so I never took them seriously when they started spouting their views. I never listened to Alice before and will not likely start now.

I think some musicians know a think or two about politics. There are a goodly number of musicians who went to college. Some chaps met there. Good musicians are generally smart people.

Considering the lyrics of many of Bruce's songs, he does pay attention to current events, and seems a rather learned fellow. Hearing Bruce interviewed over the years has shown him to have developed into a thoughtful man.

Those impressions have never come to mind when I hear or read Alice Cooper interviews, or during his appearances on Staples commercials.

Alice has been doing commercials for Staples. Seems like he's at the point where he'll do anything to stay in a mini spotlight.
