It's funny how the brain works. I have a system at work that requires two passwords that are just pure numbers. One is 12 digits in length, the other is 15. The numbers do not possess any significance for me in order to remember them, yet I have them memorized.

But here's the trick, I couldn't tell you the password verbally, unless I'm typing it out. If my hands aren't dancing over the number pad, I'm not remembering that password.

Funny, that.

Muscle memory is weird, isn't it? I had that exact same experience last week, trying to remember my old York student number. :-)

Of the few phone numbers I have memorized, I can't recall most of them unless I'm using a phone keypad. It's a spatial memory thing, I think.

ahhhh i have things like that, you remember the motions not the information. i have to move my hands in the air to remember said data :-)
