Played bridge with the mad-cap card posse tonight. There were some great hands, and some nasty ones. Blech, I hate being set.

I came home, cleaned up the kitchen a smidge, and relaxed with a Lagavulin and practiced guitar.

I've been reading Shadow Puppets by Orson Scott Card. It's yet another in a long line of the Ender series spinoff. This spinoff presented events going on around the same time that the original series ocurred, except from the perspective of Ender's friends and family.

What I enjoy about all of Card's Ender books is his game of strategy, and the future he envisioned for Earth and its inhabitants. Not that it's a great future per se, but an interesting one.

What I find particularly amusing about this recent installment is that we get to see more of Peter, Ender's bastard older brother, and Ender's parents. His parents are a source of comic relief, as well as highly intelligent. Good, clean pulp fiction.

Now to do some more reading and head to bed.

Wow, that sounds like it would make for an interesting (pe)muppet space production. Especially the climactic battle near Uranus.

Sorry to not have responded earlier, but I was off exploring the three moons of Uranus.
