  • On the descent into Irvine, the Southwest Airlines pilot said, "We've really enjoyed your company." I thought, how could these pilots really enjoy our company? We don't really interract with them. They fly us and the big metal tube safely to our assorted destinations. Is it not the truth that they really enjoy our money that funds their livelihoods? These days, with fears of chemical weapons and suicide bombers, establishing such preparations of war are trickier.

  • I really respect Churchill's understanding of the hells of war. I wish we had a leader who understood such things.
