Take the Special K challenge

Special K wants you to swap two of your meals a day with Special K. Oh yeah. That's lasting happiness.

It is a lovely morning, that started off fairly normally. Max is sleeping at my feet. Sascha is more of a nocturnal rover, so he comes from wherever he has been once he realizes I am stirring, and comes to lay on my chest for morning cuddles. Sascha leaves, Max saunters up from the end of the bed to say his mornings to us both.

I languish a bit, wishing that drum practice could be accomplished while I sleep. Not so. Shit. I roll out of bed, shower, throw on some coffee in the ol' Mill 'n Brew.

Sascha pulls a "Lassie" and mews at me meaningfully, while I'm in the bedroom. I let Sascha lead me to what the problem is. Instead of Jimmy stuck down by the stream, I am shown the empty bowl where kibble used to and should reside. My cat, the heroic lunchmouth.

With kibble dispensed, I also realize I should check the litter status. Litter code: red. My little predators and expressed themselves in litter art. I call this piece, "Prelude to a Woman Cleaning the Catbox".

Okay, back to drum practice, and then to lessons.

The Special K challenge works well if you substitute almost any cereal for Special K. Cereal, especially the whole grain type, makes an excellent meal.

I sometimes like to mix up healthy cereals (Cheerios) with something not-so-healthy/containing more sugar (Lucky Charms) for fun. Adding the Cheerios gives it a little health boost. :-)

That reminds me of when they first introduced the idea. My SIL, idiot that she is, started eating two bowls for breakfast, plus her regular meals. And she's no light eater. She definitely didn't follow the 1 c. guideline for either bowl. Then she wondered why it wasn't working. LOL.
