Chili + cornbread = bliss, contrary to the opinion of some. *cough*

I managed to watch Pump up the Volume tonight. Good fun. I also spent time messing with my scan gun. It's crap when it comes to using for dvds, but so far, so good for books. We shall see with that.

Currently, I'm learning PHP for the sake of a homework assignment.

Scan gun O_o?

Oh yes. I suppose I should elaborate. I bought some collector software that lets me inventory books, movies, and music. There's an option, if you have a barcode scanner (or scan gun), you don't have to enter the isbn number by hand, but rather use the gun to scan the barcode. So I got one. And it works well. :-) And less typing. :-)

Sounds convenient! O_o

I'd be able to inventory my anime DVD's in no time!

Homemade chili? With or without beans? I dislike the beans they put in chili. In fact, I dislike most beans, except the bean dip at our favorite restaurant, and J's BBQ baked beans. Yum. However, I likes me (hehehe) a good bowl of no-bean chili atop Fritos, and smothered with cheese. I won't be having that anytime soon, at least not with J, thanks to his new bland GI diet. Bleck.

Culinary stuff

Agreed in principle -- my mom makes this outstanding spicy cornbread with peppers and cheddar cheese, and it goes great in chili.

My favorite sort of chili has more than just kidney beans in it -- some black beans and garbanzos add a variety of tastes and textures. Plus beef and fresh tomatoes, peppers and onions, of course.

I spiced up the chili with cayenne pepper, but I am not hugely fond of peppers--particularly green peppers. They haunt me.

I did a mix of black beans and pinto beans in this one. I added in onions and tomato sauce, but no chunky tomatoes.

They haunt me.

I must remember this expression for the next time someone offers me something with raw cucumber.

Still, that sounds pretty tasty.

Yeah. I actually get a similar revenge when eating Cucumbers, as well. But at least I'm okay with the taste of cucumber the second time around. Green Pepper burps...that's the devil's work, and I'll have no part of it.

Heh.

My grandmother says "they return on me", which is also amusing.

Considering how many books I own, I'm curious how much the software plus scanner gun cost, if you don't mind me asking.

The software is at collectorz.com, and costs about 40 dollars. If you want more software for movies and cds, then you can get a bulk discount on those.

Scan guns can vary. If you look for Cuecat scanners, you can get them off ebay for 9 bucks or more. That should do the trick. I didn't know about cuecats and when I shopped around for barcode scanners, I found one for $65. Oops.
