I'm not sure I understand Factcheck's arguments this morning. They say that our purchasing power will remain stable, despite our benefit amounts being cut relative to the current social security plan. I'm wondering how they can predict purchasing power so well. I suppose you could allow for an average inflation increase.
However, perhaps it's not so much the benefit cuts that are at issue here, but the fact that it will cost us trillions to convert the system.
