weaktwosI got up a bit early, showered, cleaned up the kitchen a bit, made coffee, vacuumed, and threw together breakfast. I'm now sipping a pleasant cup o' joe.
I saw Sin City last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit. But, I noticed, obviously, the following: The men, except for Dwight, tend to be older, ugly, ridden hard and put away wet. If they are young, they are freakin' little perverts (Youngman Roarke, Kevin). All the women are young and gorgeous, and only rarely/briefly innocent. The Lesbian in the film is naive and caring. She dies accordingly. So what the hell is going on with the mortality rates in Sin City? When do the women age? And why do the men, who get shot up so much, and leap off buildings, seem to live?
But, if you don't allow yourself to think too much, it's a visual, picturesque movie with such darkness that surely makes anyone's life less complicated and therefore less depressing.
And Benicio del Toro was my favorite. His performance as a nearly severed talking dead guy was beautiful fun to watch. Jessica Alba was hot, but I found her dialogue rather unconvincing. But I loved Alexis Bledel's role. She's come a long way from Rori Gilmore. She goes from smart, perfect Rori to an uneducated hooker. That just rules. She could also play a good Cosette, me thinks.

dslartoo had been in my movie theatre, he would not have seen the trailer for the next Star Wars. He would have seen crappy horror flicks like "House of Wax" (starring Paris Hilton!) and a remake of Amityville Horror. Gah.
