The Dream Fairy Gets Mischievous

I slept for a good amount of time last night, and I felt nicely rested when I achieved, what I have continued to believe for years, consciousness. I can sometimes see why Descartes couldn't tell the difference.

However, my beef lies with my dream fairy. She's become a bit catty.

All night, I dreamed of an ex-boyfriend. And his new girlfriend. Of course, it wasn't a real girlfriend. He was dating an actress I had seen in the old Highlander shows. Now, I haven't seen any Highlander episodes in a while, but this ex boyfriend and I do share a love of that series. Funny how the brain works. So all night long, I tortured myself by interacting with this couple. I was on good terms with them, but deep down, it annoyed the stuffing out of me that he gave up on me and chose someone else.

It's nice to know that despite my ability to rationalize and repress my emotions in my waking state, my subconscious chooses to mock me with my insecurities in my dreams. Bitch.

I sympathize with the dreaming about the ex-boyfriend bit; I have been plagued by dreams of not one but 2 ex's, preceeding my hooking up with the current GF, and surviving through the relationship. These dreams have, in fact, played a part in my lack of sleep of late.

I had a dream a few months back that every woman I had ever dated had come together to form the "Scott's Ex-Girlfriend Association." Their goal was to find me and kill me. I was scared at first, but then I realized the group's acronym was "SEGA"... which was pretty cool. Then they killed me.

The guy is a loser. Can't believe someone would pick someone from a 3rd rate (sorry, but it was) tv show over the obviously perfect jewel that is Annie.
Old boyfriend dreams... what you need to do is learn to lucid dream. That way you learn that when you are dreaming of old boyfriends you say "HEY! I'm dreaming. I can have fun with this." Then you can dump paint on the girlfriend, and kick the boyfriend in the slats. Or... you might have much more class than me, and find another thing to do.. but still...........

As for the loser. Well yeah. That's why it's not so bad he broke up with me. I tend to be rather loyal, so I will endure someone's faults (barring extremely bad ones, like being abusive to me, etc. then I'd kick his ass, then dump him) once they have my heart, but if they set me loose, I'm not going back. :-)
