Holy cow. Yesterday wore me out. This morning I achieved consciousness later than I normally do. Last night, I was yawning so much, I thought I was going to break my jaw.
I have a number of practical things I could get done today:
We'll see how much I accomplish. This morning I did achieve a small victory of getting my print function to work on my ibook. Upon upgrading to Tiger, I could no longer print over my network to my hp printer. Thanks to the 10.4.1 patch, and re-adding said printer, all works well.
General note: don't configure your hp printer as a generic postscript printer over the net. It vomits forth a lot of meaningless code, instead of your desired print job. In my case, defining the printer as an hp deskjet 2000 series worked just fine. My specific print model was not in the list of printer models.
I have a number of practical things I could get done today:
- assemble new Pearl Rhythm Traveller drum kit
- laundry*
- get some stuff at home depot
- wash cars
- practice some cake decorating stuff
- clean up the kitchen*

Date: 2005-05-22 11:29 pm (UTC)Oh, I suppose you want to know the details. I have always been somewhat intrigued by musical intstruments in general, but never made time for it as a child. I think my curiosity overtook me in my late 20s with guitar, but I've taken a hiatus on that instrument. Drums always seemed quite cool to me, and I would play on my uncle's kit whenever I was over at his house. Unfortunately, when I expressed an interest to learn an instrument, I didn't get much interest from my parents. I don't think they wanted to hear me practice.
Fast forward years later when I'm milling in a music store with a friend, who plays bass. We were on our way to another friend's house, who plays guitar. I saw how reasonable 5 piece drumkits cost, promptly bought one, and signed up for private lessons about a year and a half ago.
