I assembled my new Pearl Rhythm Traveller drum kit today. I purchased it because it was mainly designed for it's compact nature, as well as it came with heads for silent practice.
Here's a picture of it:

I intend to use this kit basically for practicing at home, since I leave the main kit at my friends' studio.
Notice how shallow the heads are. They are about 5 inches deep. The bass drum is about 10 inches deep. Normal bass drums are over twice that, so this kit is a bit of a space-saver, too.
I've played on it so far, and the mesh practice heads are quite quiet. If you were to buy this set for someone in your household, you could rest assured that they can practice quietly in their room without disturbing the rest of the denizens.
