Art Deprecation Workshop #1
Dec. 1st, 2002 09:20 pmI was looking through some of the artwork I saw while in Paris. From time to time, I will post a painting I saw, and share my commentary on it.
This one is by Paul de Vos (1595-1678)
It is entitled, "Le Paradis terrestre"

Paul does a wonderful job depicting a series of animals in their natural state: drunk, passed out, and/or horny. Check out that lion on the right. How many Leos do you know who look exactly like this? Any one want to venture a guess what the fox is doing (left of lion)?
There might be a good reason why the Mona Lisa is viewed as a masterpiece and why this little number shows up in variations on the cover of your local Jehovah's Witness' Watchtower magazine.
