As others have commented, there's a disturbance in the Force involving Karl Rove being the Dweeb-throat that leaked Plame's identity to the press. I smell a set up. I'm aghast that Karl Rove would have let himself get caught in a silly scandal like this, and that any of his constituents aren't protecting him. I just feel concerned that a number of people will come out and accuse him, then he'll be exonerated, and yet again the "liberal press" will be lambasted for their shoddy reporting.

I wonder why Robert Novak, who is credited with reporting the Plame story first, isn't being prosecuted, while two other journalists are facing such heat from the law. That bothers me quite a bit.

Anyway, it's interesting, but odd.

Last night the Nutwalls wrote and layed out the design for "Bioluminescent Man", our offering for Songfight's "Bioluminescence" theme. This one will have a punk feel. Playing the drums for this little number is very therapeutic.

And, most noteworthy: I broke my first drumstick while raging away on my drumkit!!! Woo!

Never understimate the power of the dark side

So far, all that has come out so far has been relegated to the status of rumor. Personally, I wonder if the administration took the initiative on the rumor in order to spin in advance. I do see that it could be used as an opportunity to attack the press, and the whole situation strikes me as Rovian in nature. With our modern media, victory comes not through proving a point but in muddying the waters, and the rumor reporting has a very strong sense of murk to it.

I personally hold Novak in contempt for the incident, and as he was the one who actually printed it feel he should be the one in the fire on it as well.
