Here's a letter that was sent from former CIA Analysts to Congress regarding the leak of Plame's Identity.

Really, the spin being generated in defense of Rove is rather unpatriotic, when seen in this light.

Of course they are going to cover up for Rove. That is Bush's boy. and it's sickening. Bush only keeps promises that he wants to keep. They have to find a way out of his vow to fire whoever leaked the name.

I live here (in DC).. and it is sickening all the things I have learned from working in and around this city.

Indeed. That's why we get more cynical as we age. It all starts with Santa Claus not existing, and spirals down to find that many of our public figures are corrupt powerbroking monkies.

for me it got really bad when I moved up here..... and realized how much wasted money there is in govt...I also realized how naive I was.

Doing camera/audio work for large conferences, I saw so many govt agencies spending tax money on lavish banquets, with open bars, etc. They are not allowed to spend money on food and drinks, so to get around that, they pay 10 times(or whatever the compensation would be to get the free food/drinks) the normal rate for the rental of a ballroom (for which they can use govt money) and then they get a "free" banquet thrown in.

People easily misled, on the whole. Years of marketing research shows that people will believe what they want to hear even with evidence to the contrary.

To their defense, the world is quite noisy with information, these days. There is so much information out there, and not all of it is vetted. If you watch people debate politices in the blogosphere, they are quoting references that are not first hand sources. Much of what people are reading are pundits verbally masturbating.
