Oooh, Quote Time
Jul. 24th, 2005 11:24 amOf all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well- warmed, and well-fed.
- Herman Melville
There's something to think about.
I slept rather soundly today, woke up at 7 and then went right back to sleep, waking up at 9. I was indeed sleepy.
Soon, I will have to go to work, but first I will relax a bit at Panera Bread, having lunch and some light reading.
taogrl's party was quite pleasant last night. Her formula was Drinking, Dancing, Cake. And Drink we did, dance we did, eat cake, we did. Also, the hors d'eouvres were quite nummy. People seemed to enjoy the cakes, though there were some leftover. Folks ate around my eiffel tour center, so it became perched on the coast of cake like a beacon for cake eaters everywhere.
taogrl's coworkers from her old bank job came and were quite delightful. The 25 yr old contingent came, as well, and I am now educated in the ways of the "stripper move" on the dance floor. I imagine these girls at home practicing this for hours, yet stopping just short of seeking an actual stripper's career.
It's warm here, in Elk Grove. However, it is not yet miserable. I'm glad I'll be working in air conditioned areas, though.
