Maaaan, they screwed up my pre-order of DAOC: Shrouded Isles. I should have received it today, but they hosed up with their quanity and sold my copy to someone else!

My inner gamer is quite despondent over this. The rest of me will live, though.

I know someone who knows someone else who might have access to a wizard and a dragon. I should see if they can descend upon Electronics Boutique.

You can have many characters. Right now, I have a Norse Thane and a Kobold Shaman.

There's a lot to it and lots to choose from.

Cool. What does a Thane do? Is that a noble?

It's a type of warrior that can cast certain special combat spells. There's one that's fun that summons a huge spiritual mallot that descends upon your enemy. Another warrior type is the Champion. I haven't played one, yet, but that might be closer to the Paladin type of class.

I guess these Thanes have a closer connection with Thor than the rest of us. :-)

Shamans can do healing and combat magic. But there's no ka-ka curse. :-/

There really aren't nobles, it's mostly a matter of different levels of characters. Over time you gain more money and skills, of course, and can appoint yourself in fine armor, etc. You can acquire tradeskills, too, like armorsmithing, or weaponcraft, or spellcraft. Their's countrysides to explore, dungeons to root through, and guilds you can join.

There are three different realms each with it's own variety of classes that do similar things. Eventually, you will grow to fight the other realms

It's a little fantasy world community.

Yeah, I can show it to you sometime if you want. That will distract you while I play your PS2. ;-p I think you'll need to play the game on my laptop, since it sounds like your PC is less than a 1.4 Gighz...

Ooh, sounds like a plan. :) My computer is a poky 300 mhz. I'll probably upgrade around the middle of next year. It's still fine for writing and online stuff, which are the most important things I do on it. I prefer building and strategy computer games, which generally require less horsepower. And now I have the PS2 for the high-power games. So my insidious yet brilliant master plan to dominate ... the world of ... uh ... buying even more games ... never mind.

Yes, we must get together and play games. And laugh at each other when we drive into the ocean in Vice City. But mostly laugh at Anne when she drives into the ocean. :P
