I'm waiting for this.

I was looking at other interfaces today, and found this site fairly plausible on the solutions.

The prospect that Coast Tech's solution could let me use existing factory radio controls and the touch screen to run my ipod rules my brain. Hands down. I'm going nuts with my cassette interface, but I shall wait.

Probably because it's cheaper than a prius? Also, if you search, there are other options out there. Most of the options in that link to ehow work for other models, too, and not just the prius. But it sounds like you still have to give up your cd player.

Well worth the investment!

yeah i have the ipod2car, installed it myself (pretty proud of that!) and it has been great! I use it with a nano, it keeps it charged and i can use the controls on the radio and the steering wheel.

It's great!

You think your cassette adaptor sucks? My tape deck doesn't work, so I have to bring a portable ipod stero with me in the car.

Very cool. Unfortunately, I don't want to give up my cd player functionality. I want to be able to play a cd I've just purchased, or listen to the cd player in case I forget my ipod, etc.

good with the touch screen. without it though, you lose the iPod controls so really no browsing by genre, artist, etc. you just ff and rew a track at a time, you also can't use the spinning wheel to zip thru a ton of songs really fast. sucks if songs you want are at the end. hence i opted not to integrate to the built in controls because i don't have a touch screen, i used the aux input cable. if you have a screen though, that seems totally the way to go.

Yeah, if I'm going to get tear my car apart to get the interface, I might as well go this way. Coastal Technologies has some neat product offerings for all sorts of stuff on the Prius.
