I bought two modification packs from Coastal Electronic Technologies last night.

I look forward to seeing how they work. One will allow me to use the electric engine only at speeds under 34mph. The other will let my passenger (ahem) operate the nav system while I drive.

Good fun.

The company seems to have a very rudimentary order form, so we'll see if they deliver.

That no-GPS-while-driving thing is really annoying. Does it shut off the warning that you undoubtedly get every time you start it up, too? tallin's GPS has a really smarmy and irritating warning that insists on warning him every time he starts it that 'the GPS is not to be used as a substitute for a cane or service dog'.

definitely keep us posted about the nav kit. it is so frustrating, especially when we really do have a passenger to operate it.

not that you don't.
i mean, i totally wouldn't say that.
of course you would only let a passenger use it. ;)

So when do the hacking mods get released? :shocked:

I'm not sure how to feel about a car that let's you modify its computer system so easily.

On the one hand, I'm like "Whoa! That is cool!" and on the other, "Um... isn't there something wrong with being able to override a cars computer system so easily?".
