South Dakota and Abortion

One of my friends pointed to this video which features an interview with Bill Napoli , a legislator of South Dakota.
It's rather scary to hear what he views as the valid exception for abortion is. But it is also interesting to hear him talk about how when he grew up in the "wild west".(by the way, he probably grew up in the wild 50s...) That when a man got a woman pregnant out of wedlock, that man married that woman. And the whole neighborhood got involved in the wedding. (were shotguns involved)
And Bill yearns for those good old days.
Of course, what has been keeping South Dakota from making laws that force neighborhoods to ensure that children have two parents? Does this mean divorce is outlawed if children are involved?
This notion of state's rights with regard to abortion intrigues me. Especially when abortion is mainly an individual decision. Yes, yes, I know proponents of birth believe abortion is murder.
I'm wondering if those of us in pro-choice states can start an "adopt a woman" fund, where we can help single women who are fed up with backwards states relocate to a state that allows them to make their own decisions with regard to their bodies.
