I have a program called Sonic Cineplayer that does screenshots while I play dvds. What I do is view a dvd, pause where I want to start capturing, and frame advance to catch each frame I want. Then I upload the snaps into an animation utility that came with Paintshop Pro for windows. It's fairly simple to upload images, sort them, test the animation, control pauses, etc. If I wanted to enter fancyschmancy text, I'd do it with in paintshop pro, I suppose. Anyway, the Animation program I has saves it in *.gif format and voila!
