Interesting, yet sad

This case in South Africa is a little intriguing. Zuma cleared on rape charges.

So, here's the recap:
-Married political official with multiple wives has unprotected sex with an HIV positive woman.
-That they had sex is not in doubt, but whether or not it was consensual was in dispute.
-Supposedly, both have been involved in AIDs activism, and yet they had unprotected sex.

The guy risks infecting his wives of HIV. Unbelievable. If it was consensual, and she let him have unprotected sex with her...unbelievable. Very strange case.

The whole trial has been quite a spectacle here in SA, and there's been a lot of debate about it.

For some WTF? action, check out some of the quotes that we were all talking about over here. Zuma's comment about showering after unprotected sex was particularly mind-boggling.

Yeah. It just floors me that they could still hold that view. A political leader, no less, who should be versed on the disease.

And is the prosecuter, Charin de Beer, part of the famous Diamond de Beers?

I dunno what relation Charin is to the diamond De Beers, but it's a pretty common surname around here - I even had a De Beer boyfriend once (who had no money, WOE). :)
